Ribble and Chorley Hospital
Project Details:
The West End Health and Wellbeing Centre is part of NHS England’s plan to provide ‘Cavell Centre’ primary health care hubs, to relieve pressure on existing health assets. We have been involved from the outset of this project to deliver a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ building, designed in full accordance with HTM08-01.
As part of the proposal, an initial large atrium was proposed, that would have required extensive sound absorption to mitigate the large reverberation time. In collaboration with the design team, a detailed acoustic model of the space was produced by Victor using CadnaR, allowing for design alterations to be undertaken quickly. This approach enabled significant cost-savings, by reducing the need for extensive sound absorption.
