Haybow, Weston Super Mare

Project Details:

inacoustic, was commissioned to provide expert advice for the mixed-use development project, Haybow. The development project included the proposals for multiple uses across the site. The site is situated near the M5 motorway, which posed a significant threat of noise issues. Our team of consultants conducted extensive onsite measurements of noise levels and predicted the impact of noise pollution on the site.

Based on our findings, we advised the project team to locate noise-sensitive buildings, such as residential units, away from the high traffic noise sources. We recommended using nature areas and industrial/utilities areas as buffer zones to add distance attenuation to the residential properties. The idea behind this approach was to reduce the need for facade mitigation and create the opportunity for the development of well-designed residential buildings that would offer enhanced acoustic insulation.

Our team's proposals proved effective in mitigating the impact of noise pollution at the Haybow development site, leading to a well-designed development that fosters a comfortable and peaceful living environment. The collective experience and expertise of our team supported the Haybow project team in achieving their vision of a high-quality development, with an ideal mix of commercial and residential spaces.
